What does a DPO do?
Article 39, GDPR sets out the responsibilities of a DPO:
to advise and inform the organisation of their obligations under the GDPR and other data privacy laws
monitor compliance with the GDPR and other data privacy laws
advise organisations about Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and monitor them
co-operate with national supervisory authorities on behalf of the organisation
to act as a contact point for the national supervisory authority on behalf of the organisation.
